I got a report from a buddy of mine from Portland a few weeks back. Vince Cacciottoli had ventured up to East to take a shot at some browns. The highlight of his outing was the one that got away. Somewhere out in lake is a nice brown with his Rapala in its jaw. He got busted off and didn't get to see the fish. Too bad Vince....better luck next trip!
Ryan "Go Beavs" Daniels took a friend to lake at the end of June. This was Ken Harris' first trip in pursuit of trophy browns. It was a tough trip with only one good strike on Fri.. night when they got there. Seems a good brown was on and got him hung up before it got off.
The next morning had a little Central Oregon surprise for them when they woke up to 26 degrees outside! At 6300 feet this happens more frequently than you might think. Another tough day was measured by one strike before noon. Nothing else for the day! Isn't this trophy trout angling fun?!
Finally Sun. morning, Ryan was rewarded with this nice 5 LB.+ brown that hit around 6:00 a.m. It was a tough trip, but Ken did get to see a nice brown. Only time will tell if this was enough to give Ken the bug.
And last but not least, Jordan "Picasso" Whitten called me about his outing to East this last weekend. He did fairly well Sun. with 8 browns to 20 in. during an evening run.
Send me reports about your pursuit of trophy trout and I will post them for you. We can use any photos you have with them. In the near future, you will be able to post them yourself on our site.
