I had been enlisted by Paul
Robinson's wife to take him out on a guided trip for a birthday
present. Paul's friend Dave Gacke joined him for the day
and we chased the bulls up around the island.
After a minor mix-up on where we would meet, we finally
got on the water around 7:00 a.m. The weather was calling
for clouds and sun and no rain. We got into the bulls early
and often and caught 10 by early afternoon. We ended the
day with a total of 14 bulls to 8.5 lb. with at least 6
legal fish exceeding the 24 in minimum. The Lyman plugs
were really working well. I was using both the 4 in. and
6 in. models in Blk/Slvr/White pattern that represent the
kokanee so well. Both clients seemed to be happy campers
as we headed in that evening. It was one of our better number
days.
Another birthday boy is going with me on Fri. the 29th and
I hope to have another day like this.
Tight lines, Rick
