Vince Cacciottoli had found me on a web search earlier in the year while researching for a guide trip. We had a instant camaraderie and have been communicating via email for a couple of months now. We finally got together for his trip this past Fri. His buddy that was to accompany him was unable to make it do to illness, so Vince and I were on our own.
The weather conditions were improving from the original forecast and that was encouraging. Unfortunately, the morning bite did not develop as it had the past few trips. We did manage a couple of dinks that hit the herring/Slingblade rig at 65 feet.
After bouncing around from spot to spot, we finally had some bigger bulls show up and Vince got into these two best bulls of the day that went 8 LB.+ and one that was just a little short of 10 LB. We stuck a total of (6) bulls. The Lyman's have been the key on the shallow water runs so far this spring.
I have another trip on Sun. so check back soon for the next report...
