This is what the fishing for the giant gerrard rainbows at Pend Oreille was like in the old days. These fish were caught in a fall derby. How many of those fish are over 20LB?

This is what I call "shooting your wad early." Jim Sutherland caught this beautiful 20.5 LB monster kam while pre-fishing for a derby. He still took top bull honors with a big bull trout and 3rd in the rainbow division with a smaller bow.

The recognized world record rainbow from Lake Pend Oreille in 1947. The fish went a little over 37 LB. It was eclipsed in 1970 and then again in 2007 by Adam Konrad's 43 LB.+ fish.
